Battlefront III by DICE?

 

Well, we now know that DICE is working on some sort of Star Wars title. DICE general manager, Karl-Magnus Troedsson, had this to say regarding his team’s reaction to hearing the news they would be working on a Star Wars project.

“People stood up and cheered, when I announced that we were working on Star Wars”

So what Star Wars project could DICE be working on? Could it be every fans wish? Star Wars Battlefront III? Or a Republic Commando sequel? EA could have DICE go a completely different direction all together and make a brand new IP from the Star Wars license. A studio like DICE could really make a solid FPS Star Wars game and have proven able to create a fun, in depth multiplayer. I’m excited just imagining the epic space battles of Battlefront II, except developed by DICE with the newly unveiled Frostbite 3 engine.  However, DICE probably will not use the Battlefront III we saw played earlier this month and would instead build from the ground up should they decide to make the game. EA has already stated that we shouldn’t expected any Star Wars titles from any of their studios until at least mid 2014. So until EA announces something specific, let the speculation and wild dreams run rampant!
